n. one of a small band of Christianized Delaware and Muncee Indians brought to Upper Canada by the Moravian Brethren from Pennsylvania and occupying the Moravian Grant after 1792.
1798  (1957)  The fact is, the so called Moravian Indians are accounted the best of neighbors, especially for new settlers.
1897  Chatham town now contains nearly 10,000 people. There were, in 1817, a good many Indians?the Delawares and Moravians.
1958  The Moravian Indians consist for the most part of descendants of Munsees and Delawares who migrated to Canada in 1791 from Ohio following a massacre at the missionary village of Muskingum.
